summer is here already but its DEFINATELY not too late..

Hey folks,

summer is here already but its not too late to get in shape for the beach!

as summer grew near, it felt close so was my death- turning in applications for college, setting up appointments with counselors, working all day, every day at my "payless" fast food job, chic fil a (not really a bad job btw).

Its relatively easy but i cant help myself from eating nuggets and strips constantly throughout my 10-12 hour shifts.. and my stomach proves complimentary.

So let me tell you a little about my self.

My name is Calem, and ive been lifting weights since 7th grade. Every since my tubby P.E. teacher made 3 of us one day go to the bench press for a make-up test I just simply fell in love with weightlifting.

I really never thought i'd actually "grow" any, for I was always the kid with no meat on his bones in the class. The kid shivering in the corner of the swimming pool in summer camp... that was me.

In 9th grade I weighed 145lbs and was 6'. I just graduated from high school and I weigh 205lbs and am 6'2''. BUT! dont get me wrong- it did NOT take 4 years to get that size.. at ALL!.

To make the long story short.. weightlifting is a mental thing- as simple as this: If you trully want to get bigger, stronger, or cut, then you will, if you dont trully want to get bigger, stronger, or cut, then you wont! Like Ronnie Coleman said "Everybody wanna' get big but no body wanna lift heavy weight." I always liked that phrase because it was so true. My next door neighbor used to come over and talk to me about gaining muscle. He would say "Calem, you dont even have to workout and you just grow muscle".. but he would come over and workout for 15 minutes, go home, bust out a 4 liter coke bottle and a bag of doritos and call it a day.. HOLY CRAP! This dude was 10 miles pass failure. On average, I worked out atleast 4 hours a day over summer vacation entering my junior year. I gained 30 lbs of muscle, with a 50lb benchpress increase, deep abs, and broad shoulders and back muscles.

Now I dont expect you to even have time to do the same, but if possible, make room for 3 days a week (non continuitive), and an hour for each of those days to work out. If you do that and follow what I am about to tell you, I guarentee you, you will transform your body into a monster in less than a month..

now im going to focus mainly on upper body for this, so here i go..

Whether you own a public Gym membership or have an in-home or garage weightset, i recommend starting off with the following.. start off by burning yourself a new workout CD. (or put some new songs in your MP3, Ipod, etc.)

Bench Press 4x(8,6,6,4)

do 4 sets of the above repitions, I prefer each set to be about ten more pounds than the previous. for ex. this week mine is 8x 225, 6x 235, 6x 245, 4x 255.

take about no more than 2 minutes rest between each set.

After that, do some dips (or weighted dips) on the side of the bench, about 3 sets of 10.

then with the preacher curl bar do about 4 sets of 8 with a weight that makes your whole body squirm.

Dont hesitate to do various stretches between sets cause it will help you by allowing more blood to flow through your body as well as leading to larger pumps.

If possible, try to get a little circuit going to minimize the resting process. Rest feels great but the more you go without rest, the more you condition your body and receive GREAT results.

And most importantly- SLEEP. Muscles are made outside the gym, not inside the gym.

I also highly recommend pre-workout drinks or supplements. I took a little creatine back in my day and it helps for workin out on those "rainy" days.

These are what Ive taken and a small description of my very own personal experiences with them so the effects may vary between other people and myself

*pump fuel- great motivation, endurance, feel durable.

*plasmacore- energy and motivation

*NO-XPLODE- my personal favorite- receives much critizing for its excessive amount of caffeine but never gave me that crash after drinking caffeinated beverages even hours after. loads of energy and motivation, great taste.

*NO-BLACKPOWDER- Extremely large pumps, energy depleting but greatly expands muscles for blood flow.

I will add more to this blog later such as pictures of the products, protein shakes, and some pictures of myself.

3 days a week,

3 hours a week,

8 hours of sleep a night

= the body you've desired.

dont talk about it, walk about it.
